Jeffrey Heilbrunn serves as a marketing and business consultant to Intergam Online Research; Digital Publishing Company www.readoz.com ; and Social Media Reasearch company www.geeyee.com. He is adjunct instructor of marketing for Columbia College of Missouri and National Lewis University, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses. Previously, Heilbrunn served Columbia College as Director of its site in Crystal Lake, IL.
In 1972 Mr. Heilbrunn received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Illinois-Chicago, graduating with honors and distinction. He later took his MBA from Loyola University in Chicago.
In 1974 he helped launch the first videotape recorder into the United States. From 1977-1985, Mr. Heilbrunn created new products for the National Safety Council such as “How To Survive a Hotel Fire” used by tens of millions of employees throughout the world. He was a pioneer of not for profit marketing.
In 1985, Jeff joined the American Marketing Association as the Executive Director and later became its President. During his tenure through 1993, the association started six new periodical publications; created the AMA Foundation; all while increasing membership and overall revenues. In 1992 Heilbrunn became a Certified Association Executive. He was recognized by the Japanese Marketing Association as their first honorary member. Later, he was made an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute.
During the 1990’s Jeff started his own consulting company, and was active in the areas of sales promotion, corporate entertainment and sponsorship marketing, In 1995, he created the “The AMA Encyclopedia of Marketing”. Using his marketing talents, Jeff also pitched in to help with fundraising and board activities for the local homeless shelter. Jeff has also been involved in several entrepreneurial start-ups including BioSafe Medical Technologies, PEPID and Lighthouse Laboratories.
Several years ago, as president of the American Marketing Association, Heilbrunn traveled to Japan to keynote a symposium on Customer Satisfaction. He was honored by having Crown Prince Narahitu introduce him. It was the first time the prince ever publicly introduced anyone in English. Later that evening, the Prince inducted Heilbrunn as the first ever Honorary Member of the Japan Marketing Association.
